Thinking about a website redesign?

Many business owners immediately think a website redesign is the solution when their current site no longer feels right. Mostly, they know something needs to change.

Sometimes, people discover that the issue is not always the colors, fonts, or layout. Sometimes the problem is outdated structure, weak messaging, or years of patchwork edits.

I’ll help you figure out whether a website redesign is enough, or whether a new website will be a better option.

WHICH ONE SOUNDS LIKE YOU?

Every website redesign conversation starts with recognition.

Three of the most common reasons business owners come to me for a website redesign.

01

“Things look a little DIY and dated. I just want my website to look better and function more smoothly.”

Your site works, but it just doesn't represent you at your best anymore. A design realignment and UX polish can transform how potential clients perceive you.

02

“People don’t understand what I do or how to hire me. The site could be clearer and more conversion-friendly.”

Clarity is a design problem. When visitors can't quickly understand who you serve and what to do next, they leave. I fix that through messaging and structure.

03

“Our business has evolved — the website doesn’t match who we are anymore or the clients we serve.”

You've grown. Your website hasn't grown with you. An updated website brings your site current with the business you're running today.

Every business is different, and every website is at a different stage. Some sites just need a little polish. Others need more clarity so people know what you actually do. And some websites simply haven’t kept up with who you are as a business today.

IS THIS RIGHT FOR YOU?

A redesign works best in the right circumstances.

A website redesign can be the right move when your site already has a solid foundation and mainly needs minor updates such as:

  • Fresh visual design and better page layout

  • Updated branding

  • Clearer calls to action

  • Improved mobile styling

  • Cleaner Squarespace sections

When a website redesign may be enough …

When a brand new website is often smarter …

Many redesign requests are better solved with a new website when your current site has:

  • Confusing navigation

  • Weak SEO setup

  • Hard-to-edit pages or an old version of Squarespace

  • Too many old edits stacked over time

  • Messaging that no longer fits your business

  • Missing pages or unclear buyer journey

  • A platform setup holding you back

WEBSITE REDESIGN QUESTIONS

Everything you’re wondering about.

  • If your business has grown, clarified, or changed direction since your last update, you’re probably a good candidate for a new website. Many of my clients tell me some version of, “We’ve evolved, but our website didn’t come along for the ride.”

A redesign provides a nice visual update, but if you want your website to reflect the business you’re running today , you might need to start fresh.

  • Not necessarily. Many clients don’t need brand-new copy. They need clearer structure, better hierarchy, and small edits to help their message land correctly. If new copy is needed for certain sections, I can help.

  • Often yes, but not because we’re changing your entire visual identity. When content is organized more clearly and the user journey makes sense, the design naturally feels more polished and intentional. The goal is a website that feels aligned, confident, and easy to navigate.

  • Yes, but at a light, on-page level. This includes updates to title tags, meta descriptions, image alt text, internal linking, and image file sizes. These adjustments support visibility and indexing, but they’re not a full SEO strategy or ranking campaign. For more in-depth SEO work, see my signature web design package.

  • I do write blog posts, but not as part of a redesign. Blog content lives inside a larger SEO strategy, and this is an add-on to my signature web design package. We need to make sure your foundation is aligned first. If you need help with content later, I can happily help you.

  • I primarily work with service-based businesses, creatives, attorneys, wellness practitioners, consultants, and small teams who care about clarity, professionalism, and helping their clients. If you’re not sure, the free discovery call is a great place to explore fit.
